Veterinary Services

General and laser surgery
We offer all routine surgical procedures. Our CO2 Laser seals the blood vessels and nerves, allowing for far less bleeding and pain than routine methods of surgery. We use the safest anesthesia available, sevoflurane. For additional safety we use the latest anesthesia monitoring available which includes ECG, blood pressure, respiratory, and oxygen monitoring. We also have a pediatric "bair-hugger" patient warmer that allows us to prevent hypothermia (low body temperature) during surgery and recovery.

Holistic medicine
We offer a wide array of nutritional, herbal and alternative medicine therapies. Dr. Richter practiced for many years with a board certified veterinary acupuncturist and developed her understanding of the eastern medicine exam in addition to her conventional western training. This integrated medicine approach is a hallmark of her approach to veterinary medicine.

Preventative medicine
This is the mainstay of your pet's health. Routine vaccinations, de-worming, heartworm medication, and dentistry are necessary to keep your pet in tip-top shape. Older pets (7 years) can benefit from a Geriatric Profile. This small battery of tests can detect early problems such as diabetes, renal (kidney) disease, liver, and heart problems. All we need is a small blood and urine sample. Ask us about it!
Vetlab Station

In-house laboratory
Our hospital uses the IDEXX LaserCyte Hematology and VetTest computerized systems, allowing us to perform blood cell counts and serum chemistries within minutes. This enables us to get our diagnosis faster and begin treatment immediately.

Dentistry
Dental care is a favorite area of preventative medicine for Compassion Veterinary Hospital. It has been proven that routine dental cleanings and continued preventative dental care help prevent heart and kidney disease. Human beings who floss their teeth live an average of ten years longer than those who don't floss! We have found preventative dental care is just as important, if not more so, in our beloved pets care. Please feel free to talk to the staff about all of our dental services.

Pet supplies
We carry a wonderful array of specialty foods for dogs and cats. We have diets that help with arthritis pain, obesity, diabetes, allergies, and sensitive digestive systems. Our diets are guaranteed not only to taste great but to work ... or your money back! We have specialty supplies such as New Hampshire produced Lupine leashes and collars, guaranteed for life, even if chewed! We also carry tick and heartworm medications, including Frontline and Heartguard. We always have fun dog & cat toys around too. Come by and take a look!
